We were given a handicapped room. we did not ask for nor do we need one. the shower did not contain the water and flooded the bathroom floor. it was very awkward to shower because the head was pointing towards the curtain, thus flooding the bathroom. while we were sleeping sat morning, someone entered the room with a key (between 8 & 7 am). i thought it was the housekeeping people, my wife seems to feel it was not them. i thought i locked the door with the deadbolt. then around 11am housekeeping knocked on the door and said she needed to clean the room. we asked her to come back later around 3pm. she was told by my wife that i was still sleeping. i had been up for about 26 hours the day prior. the housekeeper insisted that she clean the room. she told us that she gets paid by the room that gets cleaned. so my wife stood at the door (while i continued to try and sleep) as housekeeping handed her towels and soap from the cart as she said she couldn't come back since she only had two more rooms to clean. there was no door hanger saying "no houskeeping" and i assumed they would not come because we had not yet left the hotel. i was very wrong. when we went to check out the person behind the counter said the room had already been paid. i was surprised to hear that, so i asked her three different times if things have changed as to when they charge the card. i never got an answer. i am used to the room being guaranteed by a card until you check out then the card is charged. we wanted the hotel paid on a debit card when we left. she told us that she would need the physical credit card we had used to guarantee the room before she could reverse the charges. however, somehow the room had been paid for without the physical card. her answer for changing cards was to charge to the new card and have her husband later that day reverse the charge on the other card (after we left). that is not acceptable. this same person also insisted that the receipt she pulled was for us. i told her it was not and had to prove it to her by pointing out that the names are not the same. we will not be staying there on our next trip in february when we pickup our adopted infant. both myself and my wife were deeply disappointed. a little over a year ago, we used hotels.com to rent a room for a few nights in vancouver bc and had an excellent hotel and the service was impecable.
