| I have no complaints at all about the hotel. I was a little nervous coming in as a lone female traveller after an 18 hour flight, but all was fine. I had a renovated room on 2nd level- facing the back, so no view, but no issues with noise either. There was *just* enough space for me but i'm 5 foot 2, and there was only me- a couple would have found the room very tiny. Bathroom was very clean- great work!- but again, bigger-sized travellers would find the shower tight. Location was good- near enough the main road to feel safe, but not so near that the babble in TIme Square would intrude. I liked that i could walk to Broadway for some action and plays, and then to 6th/5th avenue to look for decent food in a quieter place. All in all, more than adequate for my needs. I felt compelled to write as i use TripAdvisor alot in decided my hotel- so hope this review helps someone else! | |

| I decided to book this hotel for a little mini- vacation for my wife and I after reading the reviews posted here. This was our first trip to NY so I wanted it to be a good experience for us. I was a little concerned about the noise that some of the other reviewers had mentioned, but decided to book this hotel anyway. We had room in the back of the hotel so there was little to no noise that was heard from the street (outside of the police and ambulance sirens). But hey you are in the heart of the city, so no complaints here. The doors as mention in many previous reviews do slam, because people allow them to slam. Our door slammed after the first time we entered the room and once we realized that the door did that, we had enough common sense to not allow the door to slam and to be courteous to our fellow travelers. I would suggest that the hotel invest in some type of mechanism so that door cannot be slammed. The most time that this is noticed is in the morning though when people are leaving. This is my only complaint and the only reason I couldn't give the hotel an "Excellent" rating. Now on to the GREAT things about this hotel: Location: Excellent! The location can not be beat. It is situated 1/2 block from Time Square, the Theaters and many fine restaurants. Everything is so close, from major banks ( Bank of America, Wachovia, Chase, etc), and a 24hr pharmacy within a 1 block radius. The street the hotel is on is relatively quite, but lined with restaurants. The sidewalks also were not as congested as they are on the main drag (Broadway). Accommodations: Excellent Value! The Hotel was spotless from the lobby to our room. Our room appeared to have been newly renovated, and the decor was wonderful. It had all of the usually mainstays of an iron, ironing board, coffee maker with tea (decaf & regular) and coffee (decaf & regular). There is no refrigerator or microwave oven though. The only time we wished we had a fridge or microwave was when we wanted to bring some food back from BECCO (which by the way is a must if you love Italian food!!). The bed was very comfortable and everything was very, very clean (I was looking for any type of dirt or grime and there was none to be found.) There is free wireless internet connection, which is great to plot your day out from your room or make reservations if you want. There was a 42" plasma TV and adequate room for luggage in the closet. The room is very comfortable for 2 people to move around. Our view from our room was of the building next door, which didn't bother us not one bit, because we were out all day and didn't return until it was time to shut our eyes. Hey you come to New York to enjoy the city not watch it go by from your room anyway, right? :) The elevator was small and I didn't really notice that it was super slow. It brought us up and it brought us down. The breakfast was plentiful to start your day. It's nice to be able to go down stairs and a get something to get your day started. The breakfast consisted of a variety of cereal, 2% milk, boiled eggs, waffles, assorted fruit, orange juice, apple juice, coffee (regular & decaf), breakfast muffins and even Red Bull energy drink. All this while reading your complimentary copy of the NY Times and USA Today. This is good way to save a few more dollars for stuff that you really want to spend money on. While we drove to New York instead of flying, there is a little kiosk in the lobby to check on your flight, in addition to the computers in the business center. There is also a small fitness center, which we didn't use as we got plenty of exercise walking all around the city and taking in the sights. Price: Excellent Value! I searched many hotels prior to booking this one, and you cannot beat the price. We paid $248 + tax per night for New Year's weekend! All other hotels were charging nearly twice as much. I am sooo glad that I decided to book here. There is certainly a lot of bang for your buck, and there was no compromise on the accommodations, staff friendliness/helpfulness and location. There is a parking garage located across the street that charges a discounted rate for staying at the hotel of $25 per day. Add $10 on top of the total if you drive an oversized vehicle. The hotel is located directly across the street from the "Muse" hotel which has rates twice as much as the Comfort Inn. I have to admit, I laughed each time I walked out of our hotel and looked across the street and people coming out of the Muse and thought "you have no idea how much money you are throwing away". This hotel is a little gem right in the heart of the city! I will be back and would recommend this location to a friend without any hesitation. | |
